GREEK YOGHURT IN HANDMADE SOAP
Greek yogurt is probably one of the healthiest snacks. It is very rich in proteins of high biological value, B vitamins, phosphorus, magnesium and potassium. Yogurt is traditionally used to soothe and rebuild dehydrated skin, especially after prolonged sun exposure. We use it in soap because it enriches its emollient properties with the rich natural sugars it contains.
KOZANI SAFFRON
A valuable spice and the best quality saffron in the world, which has important antioxidant properties, contributing to good health and well-being, while enhancing the taste and giving its attractive color to many dishes, desserts, and drinks. New research is converging on the conclusion that saffron stains can neutralize free radicals, while they can also improve brain function and especially memory.
In cosmetics, it has beneficial properties when added in the form of a tincture to the recipe. At Seamuse we add it to the “Krokos & Beetroot” soap, as well as to the children’s line.
CHIOS MASTIC
Mastic has been known for at least 2,500 years since Greek Antiquity. The first reference to mastic resin was from Hippocrates. Hippocrates used mastic to prevent digestive problems, colds and as a immune rejuvenator. The Roman emperors used mastic along with honey, pepper and egg in the spiced wine condadum paradoxum.
In modern medicine, alternative and traditional, it is used for its antiseptic and antioxidant properties in digestive disorders and various skin diseases.
HERBS OF CRETE
Crete is a very special island characterized by its exceptional wealth of flora, with over 1,800 species, many of which are endemic. Many of them have been known since antiquity for their healing properties, while today, alternative medicine has attached great value to their use. Thus, the information of the public and the increased demand of aromatic herbs such as sage, mountain tea (malotira) and dittany have been achieved. In soaps we use them in dried form and in the form of extracts.
